Who Cares Like Christian Grandparents?
October 11, 2024

At first glance, it seems no one cares.

Millions of precious people live and die without knowing the abiding comfort of Psalm 23

Can you believe it?

The sad reality is that more than one billion people still lack access to a Bible in their heart language.

Who cares about bibleless believers? Who cares about those hostile to God? Who genuinely cares about sharing the Gospel with every nation and tongue?

Some do.

A Broken World in Need

Let's take a closer look.

Christ-loving grandparents care deeply about their families and the state of the world. Biblically grounded elders fervently pray, pass on a legacy of faith, and uphold their families' spiritual well-being. These pillars of faith nurture not just their loved ones but also support efforts to bring God’s Word to bibleless communities.

God’s Relentless Pursuit of the Hostile and Rebellious

The story of Nineveh's salvation shows Someone else who cares. A relentless God and a grumpy prophet emerge in this story — a prophet who does not care and a Father who won't give up on anyone — not even those who reject Him. Despite rebellious hostility, our Great Shepherd extended mercy and pursued the lost in Nineveh.

God’s Heart for the Overlooked

Who cares that this breathtaking Good News goes to the ends of the earth?

God does. This is His mission.

God cares for every single language community no matter how small  –  even laying down His life for all.

Our Father’s self-sacrificial love for His children is mirrored by grandparents' legacy of devotion to the family of God. Just as a grandmother faithfully prays for her grandchildren's salvation, Jesus Christ, our Great High Priest, intercedes for His family. The Father, Son, and Spirit long for all people to know Him, especially those without the hope of the Gospel in the language they know best — their own.

He has not forgotten the bibleless.

Let's equip indigenous translators to put the living Word into hopeful elders’ hands.

Give grandparents in every tribe, language and nation the opportunity to share Bible stories with their grandchildren.

Who cares? We do. And we know you do too.
